i wanted to start blogging so of course i had to write my own bit of software to do it, plus it's easier to integrate into my website that way. the requirements of my software were:

• ability to create new articles just by writing a new file with 'vi'
• easy to add links to my photo gallery and the rest of my site
• support some simple wiki-like markup
• ability to easily add photos inline
• html format and rss feed

i've also just 'extracted' the code from this wikish that does the text formatting, mostly (or only) so i can use wikish plugins.
